5 Potential Winners Of The 2017 Royal Rumble Match

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! (If you’re a wrestling fan!). Royal Rumble is just around the corner, thus meaning that Wrestlemania season is upon us. This time of year is the WWE’s very own Christmas, except Santa hasn’t always bought fans what they want, especially in recent years…..

On Sunday January 29th, 30 men shall battle for a spot in the Main Event of Wrestlemania 33. Therefore with the 30 Man Royal Rumble Match forthcoming, here 5 Potential Winners Of The 2017 Royal Rumble Match:

1. The Undertaker

While it is seemingly The Undertaker’s final run in the company, a second Rumble victory for the phenom would not go a miss. One could argue that they would rather watch a younger and upcoming talent win, but not many would be against a Rumble win for ‘Taker. Also, if a certain matche on the card prior to the Rumble match play out to perfection, it could be a win-win scenario for the WWE Universe heading into Wrestlemania 33……. It could be Phenomenal!

2. Chris Jericho

At this point it should be a given, Jeri-KO are not going to last. He said…. sadly. However that may not be as bad as one believes, as Y2J VS KO at Wrestlemania 33 has the potential to be great, if booked correctly. Chris Jericho has been on one of the best runs in his WWE career, heel Y2J is best for business. Since winning the WWE United States Champion, Y2J has won every single title available. Despite this tremendous accolade, he has never won the Royal Rumble match. Therefore with this in mind, it would be nice to see Y2J cap it all off with a Rumble victory.

3. Braun Strowman

A monster of a superstar, with a monster of a push! Braun Strowman has worked his way up the card very well in the past year, so much so he is in the running to win the Royal Rumble match. WWE have big plans for the former Wyatt Family member, as his singles run seemingly has no limits in the future. However I believe that a Rumble win would be more unlikely for Strowman, as it remains a very premature thought for the long-term.

4. Randy Orton

Now Randy Orton is not a superstar I believe will win the Royal Rumble match. However, he is within the bookmakers favorites, so I guess there must be some leeway for justification. Orton has found himself working with the Wyatt Family in recent months, a stable that actually looks and work well. But it could have been booked better in some aspects. None the less Orton winning the Rumble would not be a crazy prediction to make, but I am adamant fans would love to see fellow Wyatt Family member Bray Wyatt win the Rumble, wishful thinking…….

5. Finn Balor

Despite still being on the road to recovery, the Royal Rumble Match itself loves to serve surprises. The Demon has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since Summerslam, where he was crowned the first ever WWE Universal Champion. Then 24 hours later, Balor was forced to relinquish the title, such a devastating blow for one of WWE’s rising stars. A 4-6 months lay-off has almost been completed by Balor. The Royal Rumble Match is the element of surprise, so one cannot go against a Balor return and Rumble match win.
