We knew for a while Wes Anderson‘s next project is going to be an animation and today the director himself has officially confirmed it will be a stop animation called ‘Isle Of Dogs‘.
Anderson will be once again returning to a world of animals, years after his last foray Fantastic Mr Fox based on Roald Dahl book. This time it will be all about dogs, a stop animation and via a youtube video, he made that announcement which included a brief sneak preview of Edward Norton‘s dog character.
The movie is set to film in London (could it be in the Isle of Dogs in the east end of the city?) and will include the vocal talents of many of Anderson’s regular collaborators: Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Harvey Keitel, F. Murray Abraham, Bob Balaban. There will be a number of new names too, with Yoko Ono been the stand out name. She will be joined also with Bryan Cranston, Scarlett Johannson, Kunichi Nomura, Akira Ito, Akira Takayama, Koyu Rankin, Yoko Ono, Courtney B. Vance, Greta Gerwig, Liev Schreiber.
Not much is known about ‘Isle of dogs‘ apart from it’s impressive international cast. What we did learn is Wes Anderson is going to host a competition, a raffle with Crowdrise. The winner will get a chance to come to Isle Of Dogs set, meet Wes but the highlight is to voice one of the dogs in the movie. Everything is done in association to promote Martin Scorsese Film Foundation which works to preserve and restore the planets movie heritage.
