“Spiderman, Spiderman,Does whatever a spider can.Spins a web, any size, Catches thieves just like flies.Look out! Here comes the Spiderman.” After yesterday trailer teaser, today Sony Pictures have unearthed the real McCoy, behold the first official UK Trailer for Spider-Man:Homecoming has arrived online and our Spidey senses are tingling!! There is an unexpected cameo from a (fake) Superhero team, can you spot them?
In the first trailer , we can see our favourite web-slinger is still finding his feet as a superhero however he does have the help from an Avenger, Iron Man. We also get our first look at the villain of the movie The Vulture (Michael Keaton) a fan favourite in the heart of the action with our youthful protagonist.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
Since his introduction in Civil War where we got a taster of what type of Spider-Man we can expect, fans of the character have really warmed to him. Also, Tom Holland is virtually the same age as Peter Parker making things more authentic. He’s a teenager and besides the problems from the Vulture he has to balance with school, chores, friends and love. He does have a certain Mr Tony Stark who seems to be a ‘father’ figure to Peter, mentoring him on been Spider-Man as well as ‘upgrading’ his suit too.
As for Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture, we can see Michael Keaton‘s character is just an average man who comes into possession of alien technology. How he got it some gossip says thanks to another villain Tinkerer (Michael Chernus not in the trailer), but why he gives it to Toomes we don’t know but he looks terrifying. What this trailer does do is has a big focus on Vulture, which is very positive as Marvel have been criticised for lack of spotlight on the villain. He does look a strong villain and we get a great insight into the conflict and the power he possesses.
Spider-Man:Homecoming is set for 7th July 2017 UK&Irish cinema Release with Zendaya, Bokeem Woodbine, Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Tony Revolori, Michael Barbieri, and Angourie Rice co-starring.
