Rogue One A Star Wars Story Jyn

Some of you might be counting down the days to Christmas, the rest of us are counting down to Star Wars ‘Christmas’, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In exactly 4 weeks time we will be back in that galaxy  with the first of many standalone Star Wars spin-off movies and Lucasfilm have sent us a new Featurette.

The new promo is simply called ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Featurette‘ which goes behind the scenes and chats about the making of  Rogue One. Director Gareth Edwards stars Diego Luna and Felicity Jones both join in with the video with a focus on our leading lady Jyn Erso.

If you are like myself and fall under the 30 years or older most of us will have experienced the original trilogy buzz be it one movie or  all three. It was Empires Strikes Back/Return Of The Jedi for me so this like seeing all our toys come to live. No matter what age you saw these wonderful movies the spirit lives on and Gareth Edwards movie looks like it will continue the spirit.

He looks to have captured the art direction for the original movie which is essential as we now know Rogue One is set only weeks before that movie. Most of the footage was seen in the celebration Sizzle that was released earlier this year, however, we do have more new footage. Below is 2 new international TV Spots (source: We Got This Covered) that hark back to Jyn from her background to her abilities, with the second spot on Captain Cassian Andor (Luna)

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tells the story of how a group of unlikely heroes led by Jyn (Felicity Jones) unite to undertake a daring and seemingly impossible mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to arrive in cinemas in the UK, Ireland 15th December with getting the movie the USA the following day 16th December. Also starring Mads Mikkelson, Forrest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk.
