Depending on your political views, The American Dream might be shattered or about to be reborn. In the new second UK Trailer for Live By Night reveals the cost of believing in the ‘American Dream’. Ben Affleck goes all ‘gangster’ to make sure 2017 will be a more prosperous year going all out serious as a soldier returning home to become a mobster. Check out the trailer…

“It’s not enough to break the rules, you have to be strong enough to make your own… “. Before he heads back into comic book movie land, Affleck tackles a movie based on Dennis Lehane novel (Shutter Island, The Drop). A mobster with his own moral code, and one that could potentially gain the movie an Oscar nomination?

Live by Night is set in the roaring `20s when Prohibition hasn’t stopped the flow of booze in an underground network of gangster-run speakeasies. The opportunity to gain power and money is there for any man with enough ambition and nerve and Joe Coughlin, the son of the Boston Police Superintendent, long ago turned his back on his strict upbringing for the spoils of being an outlaw. But even among criminals, there are rules and Joe breaks a big one: crossing a powerful mob boss by stealing his money and his moll. The fiery affair ends in tragedy, setting Joe on a path of revenge, ambition, romance and betrayal that propels him out of Boston and up the ladder of Tampa’s steamy rum-running underworld.

After a decent attempt as the new caped crusader in a mediocre Batman Vs. Superman and a laughable head scratcher off The Accountant, Ben Affleck is in need of getting back on track. This movie will see the actor not just in front of the camera but also behind it, a successful set up the last time with Argo. This looks stylish, a lot smarter which looks to capture the era successfully.

It maybe a little light on the plot, but that doesn’t really matter here, as we do get the basic grasp of the premise. This could technically be his strongest movie to date as a filmmaker.Lot of ambition and Affleck is no stranger to the source author as he’s already adapted one of his books with Gone Baby Gone.

Live By Night is set for a UK&Irish release date of 13th January 2017, co-starring Elle Fanning, Zoe Saldana, Sienna Miller,Anthony Michael Hall, Brendan Gleeson, Scott Eastwood,Chris Messina, Chris Cooper.
