Aardman animation fans will be soon ‘flocking’ to their local cinemas as everyone’s favourite sheep will be returning to the big screen, as Shaun The Sheep sequel is announced. After the success of our favourite stop-animated sheep cinematic debut in 2015, Aardman Animation and Studiocanal confirm he will have another adventure.
The movie will be entitled Shaun The Sheep 2 (for now at least) with Richard Starzak and Producer Paul Kewley getting back to working on the movie in January. No plot details have been released apart from Shaun and his friends will embark on an even more epic adventure. Hopefully just as fun and entertaining.
“Shaun’s move to the big screen proved such a success with audiences around the world that he and the flock are very excited to be embarking on another big screen adventure. Aardman is partnering with STUDIOCANAL once again to produce another rip-roaring comedy, featuring Shaun and the rest of the gang in a story that takes them to even greater heights of lunacy.“ said Aardman animation’s co-founder David Sproxton.
Ron Halpern, EVP of International Productions and Acquisitions for STUDIOCANAL adds: “All of us here at STUDIOCANAL are Aardman fans. To get to see the wonderful way they work in Bristol as they have for 40 years now through to the first SHAUN THE SHEEP MOVIE was an experience we will always cherish. Luckily we get to start again with what will definitely be another film showcasing Aardman’s unique humour, creativity and craftsmanship.”
2015 was a strong year for Studiocanal after the worldwide success of Paddington and it’s no surprise that movie has also a sequel confirmed.
Shaun The Sheep 2 continues the production partnership with Aardman and Studiocanal with Nick Park’s highly anticipated new prehistoric comedy adventure, Early Man. That new movie will include the voices Eddie Redmayne and recently announced Tom Hiddleston.
