Netflix Confirm Narcos Will Have Season 3 And 4

Narcos Season 3

Over the weekend (2nd September) Netflix launched the much anticipated  season 2 of Narcos, the crime drama that chronicles the life of the notorious Druglord Pablo Escobar. As fans binged over the weekend , critics lined up fantastic reviews the streaming giant prepared a fantastic surprise for fans of the show. Season 3 and Season 4 have now been confirmed and to celebrate the news they launched a new teaser for Season 3, check it out…

Season 2 as we know is all about the fall of Medellin’s favourite son, Escobar and his pending death, so how can they go ahead with 2 more seasons? Whilst fans will be excited at the prospect of 2 more seasons, they will be puzzled on how they will focus the story on.

José Padilha (Elite Squad, RoboCop) and Eric Newman (Children of Men) will continue to serve as executive producers of the series. Just before the launch of Narcos season 2 the pair spoke a little about the series future “We’ll stop when the drug trade stops,” “We’ll stop when you stop. That’s our pact with America.”.[Independent]

There’s a reason why we call this show Narcos and not Pablo Escobar. It’s very much about the trade. There are other drug dealers and there are alliances formed against Pablo [in season two], so there are a multitude of stories we could tackle.” [slashfilm]

Narcos chronicles the gripping real-life stories of the infamous drug kingpins of the late 1980s and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. Its gritty storytelling details the many, often-conflicting forces – legal, political, police, military and civilian – that clash in the effort to control cocaine, one of the world’s most valuable commodities.

The new announcement trailer basically tells us Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela (Damian Alcazar)and the Cali Cartel will keep the story going. Will there be no protagonists that news hasn’t been confirmed yet, however DEA Agent Javier Pena (Pedro Pascal) did play part of this part of story, so we’ll assume he will be there. Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) left after the death of Pablo Escobar, but no word how close the real story they will keep to. Whilst the drugs are the actual true antagonist of Narcos some fans may become a little annoyed Escobar may not be a big part of the show. However when Cali Cartel took over the reigns they did at one point supply the world with 90% of cocaine.
