Haley Joel Osment used to see alot of Dead people when he was a boy, Naomi Watts might be a grown up she can see dead people too but who haunts her?Eurocorp‘s upcoming Horror/Thriller Shut In unveils it’s American trailer which not all what it seems. Does she seem or not? Watch the trailer…
He was the cutest little kid on the block in his little tiny black suit during the Oscars for The Room. But it looks like Jacob Tremblay might loose those ‘Awes’ and that cute kid persona for a persona for evil? In this latest trailer he might be the source of all evil and the one that might push his female lead actress to insanity?
Shut In is a heart-pounding thriller starring Naomi Watts as a widowed child psychologist Mary who lost her Husband thanks to a car crash and her son (Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton) in a comatose state. She now lives an isolated existence in rural New England. Caught in a deadly winter storm, she must find a way to rescue a young boy (Tremblay) she fosters before he disappears forever.
The opening of this trailer really sets the tone of the film nicely. The narrative in away reminds me of The Orphanage , it looks like a film that might just play the psychological card. It’s a film that doesn’t promote itself as a horror hence our inkling though we can’t deny plenty of Horror tropes on show too.
It will be great to see Tremblay play a role we didn’t expect him to play at this stage of his career but Jacob did say “Tom’s a dark character. Not Batman dark. But he’s scared, has rings under his eyes and looks creepy,”, enough said!
Shut In doesn’t have a UK&Irish release date yet, nor do we know if the film actually has a distributor either. We wouldn’t be surprised if Eurocorp deal with it via Lionsgate or Studiocanal. For American cinephiles keen to see this mark 11th November in your diaries. The film also stars Oliver Platt, David Cubitt.
