Ben Affleck’s Live By Night UK Trailer, American Dream Has A Price

live-by-night

He may have been the one positive light to Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice, before he returns as the Caped Crusader, Ben Affleck takes us back to 1920’s with Live By Night. The long awaited follow  up to Oscar winning Argo and in the film’s first UK Trailer, The American Dream has a price…

Oscar winner Ben Affleck  directs and stars in the dramatic  Prohibition crime thriller Live by Night. A film that looks gritty, intense and plenty of cool action that’s splattered with bullets. The wait looks like it’s worth the wait, a nice first tease hopefully a little more story will be revealed . His directorial career has been alot more successful which has helped his acting career too. It’s on the up even (and still after BVS) and film that sees Affleck work once again on a Dennis Lehane novel (previous Gone Baby Gone), could we be looking at potential Oscar contention?

Live by Night is set in the roaring `20s when Prohibition hasn’t stopped the flow of booze in an underground network of gangster-run speakeasies. The opportunity to gain power and money is there for any man with enough ambition and nerve and Joe Coughlin, the son of the Boston Police Superintendent, long ago turned his back on his strict upbringing for the spoils of being an outlaw. But even among criminals there are rules and Joe breaks a big one: crossing a powerful mob boss by stealing his money and his moll. The fiery affair ends in tragedy, setting Joe on a path of revenge, ambition, romance and betrayal that propels him out of Boston and up the ladder of Tampa’s steamy rum-running underworld.

Starring with Affleck are Elle Fanning (Maleficent), Brendan Gleeson (In the Heart of the Sea, the Harry Potter films), Chris Messina (Argo, The Mindy Project), Sienna Miller (American Sniper,Foxcatcher), Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy,Avatar), and  Chris Cooper (Adaptation,The Town).

Live By Night is set for a 13th January 2017 UK&Irish release date
