Rogue One A Star Wars Story Jyn

The world is coming undone but your morning has just got even more exciting as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story unveils it’s new second UK Trailer! That Friday feeling has got off to a great start thanks to those great folks at Disney who have been teasing us all week but the day has arrived. The awesome trailer finally delivering new footage, the rebels in action, plenty of battles but before you watch the promo…Rise, Lord Vader!!!

It’s enthralling stuff in that galaxy far far away and after 3 disappointing trilogy entries, JJ Abrams brought hope when The Force Awoke in Episode 7. Whilst we wait patiently for  Episode 8, the galaxy is getting bigger with it’s first spin off with a story that links to the original story. The return of some very familiar faces too!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tells the story of how a group of unlikely heroes led by Jyn (Felicity Jones) unite to undertake a daring and seemingly impossible mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.

Some of the action may look familiar however plenty  of new footage on show and a one of a certain Sith lord. He may not say anything but the glimpse of the iconic face of the ‘dark side’ is enough to bring the shivers to anyone and fanboys & girls to deliver a Homer Simpson  style drool.Whilst this will be a massive test for Disney and Lucasfilm to deliver something that’s standalone however Vader’s inclusion is the stamp of approval that it’s still part of Star Wars franchise. Even now the film’s premise connects with film now apparently  ending about 10 minutes before Star Wars: A New Hope begins. Does this mean R2D2 and C3-PO will be in this?

This new 2 minute trailer sets up the conflict our heroes are faced against. Introducing many of the supporting characters and their motives of joining or fighting against the Rebellion. Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), security droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk),Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen), Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen), and Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn). What this trailer also does is lay to rest those rumours of re-shoots as this clearly shows there wasn’t problems or re-shoots where a success. If Star Wars franchise is to become a long running franchise like James Bond it has to keep things fresh and exciting. So instead of focusing on the current Franchise sequels going back sometimes lets us appreciate what happens now.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to arrive in cinemas in UK, Ireland and USA on 16th December. Also starring Mads Mikkelson, Forrest Whitaker.
