Autumn is chapping on the door as tomorrow is a new day,new month, new season and off course the debate how good or how bad the Summer blockbuster season fared. One of September’s highlight is Peter Berg‘s Deepwater Horizon and today Lionsgate Films want to make sure the film is on your radar next month.
Many people don’t realise Deepwater Horizon is based on a true story, a story unknown to many people not just around the world but those that live close by. The film hopes to make make us aware (be it fictionalized but based around the true events)of the heroes and the events that lead us up to the world’s largest man made tragedy. Below is a brand new behind the scenes promo which sees the director and members of the cast chat about the film. Amongst the chat there is plenty of snippets of new footage making this a worthwhile look…
Sadly Peter Berg has been labelled a ‘Michael Bay’ clone after Battleship by some critics however this latest promo shows he’s a lot better than Bay. We can’t deny he shares similar levels of patriotism for his country and shares that passion, Lone Survivor as well as this one shows he wants to give voices to those don’t usually get a platform.
Money may talk but tragic events do too, hopefully this film will make many more people aware what happened at Deepwater Horizon. The film has grabbed itself a Toronto Film Festival premiere plus there’s even talk of Oscar/Awards recognition, not bad for Michael Bay clone?
On April 20th, 2010, the world’s largest man-made disaster occurred on the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico. Directed by Peter Berg, this story honours the brave men and women whose heroism would save many on board, and change everyone’s lives forever.
