Last week some other artwork found itself online  showing Los Angeles from the sky, now today the untitled Blade Runner 2 has unveiled more artwork showing a smoky street level scene.  We assume the black coated bag carrying man closet to the image will be our hero played by Ryan Gosling?

Prisoners/Sicario director Dennis Villeneuve will be the director this time with Ridley Scott as a film’s executive is set to start principal photography sometime this month.

The sequel is set several decades after the 1982 original, with Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role as Rick Deckard. The film is written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and succeeds the initial story by Fancher and David Peoples based on Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Story details are not being revealed.

Director Villeneuve commented “I’ve always been attracted to science-fiction films with strong visual signatures that lead us into unique parallel worlds and the original ‘Blade Runner’ is by far the best of all time. Ridley Scott had the genius to blend science-fiction and film noir to create this unique exploration of human condition. The new ‘Blade Runner’ is an extension of the first movie a few decades later.”

Whilst Ryan Gosling will be the film’s lead actor, Harrison Ford will return to the franchise reprising his role as Deckard. They will be joined by Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Mackenzie Davis, Barkhad Abdi and Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian and Hiam Abbass.

Will we finally learn the legendary mythos: ‘Is Deckard a Replicant?‘ With so many editions of 1982 movie fans of the great film will be hoping all will be revealed. Next week San Diego Comic Con we expect to be teased more and it maybe over an year until we get that film fans will be willing to waiting a little longer!

Blade Runner 2 is now expected for an October 2017 release date instead of the previously advcertised January 2018 release date with Sony Pictures releasing the film in UK&Ireland (Warner Bros USA).
