The short promos like the film’s trailer are all focused on the game with one showing the fun side with the second showing the games dark and dangerous side. Will you do anything for money? Nerve follows industrious high school senior, Vee Delmonico (Emma Roberts), who has had it with living life on the sidelines. When pressured by friends to join the popular online game Nerve, Vee decides to sign up for just one dare in what seems like harmless fun. But as she finds herself caught up in the thrill of the adrenaline-fueled competition, the game begins to take a sinister turn with increasingly dangerous acts, leading her into a high stakes finale that will determine her entire future.

Are you a watcher or are you a player? It seems these day when connecting with a certain age group the old fashioned form of communication is out the window, you want them use social media. The power of social media has grown drastically for the good but also for the bad too. Having that as a basis for an Young Adult crime thriller is ambitious and very different from the usual YA post apocalyptic/Dystopian or romance premise. Hiding behind a faceless profile daring others to do silly as well as dangerous things might be a sense of power but you can forget your playing Russian roulette with someone else’s life.

Nerve also stars Dave Franco,Juliette Lewis, Emily Meade, Samira Wiley, Miles Heizer, Kimiko Glenn, and Machine Gun Kelly.Get ready to play or watch the film in UK&Ireland 12th August.
