One week ago Assassin’s Creed first trailer landed online with some fairly positive reviews. Today we have a new teaser poster which sees Michael Fassbender scale to new heights or in a viewing point those very familiar to fans of the gaming franchise the film is based on.
Assassin’s Creed we meet Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) and estrange violent man on death row, who through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, he descended from 15th Century Assassins. Thanks to an device called Animus he experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguila who also a member of a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.A fight for humanity begins.
The film is still in big teasing mode so apart from Callum Lynch we don’t know much more about or a sneak peek at the enemy. There will be changes from the gaming world and film world so some might see this as more of an companion piece rather than a straight movie adaptation. I haven’t played the game so we don’t have a checklist of what fans of the game may expect in this film. Only time will tell if Assassin’s Creed will truly be the first gaming movie adaptation to gain critical praise, though Duncan Jones Warcraft might have a say too!
Did you miss last week’s trailer? Don’t Worry you can watch the trailer here (apologies for the terrible music by Kayne West which may ruin your enjoyment)
Assassin’s Creed will arrive in UK&Ireland from 26th December. The film also stars Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson,Michael K. Williams and Ariane Labad.
