starring Vincent Cassel, Emmanuelle Bercot, and Louis Garrel, Mon Roi tells the story of Tony, who is admitted to a rehabilitation centre after a serious ski accident. Dependent on the medical staff and pain relievers, she takes time to look back on a turbulent relationship that she experienced with Georgio. Why did they love each other? Who is this man that she loved so deeply? How did she allow herself to submit to this suffocating and destructive passion? For Tony, a difficult process of healing is in front of her, physical work which may finally set her free.

Maïwenn might be that name not familiar to cinephiles but face of the actress might. One time wife of Luc Besson , possible inspiration for Leon The Professional character Mathilda (played by Natalie Portman) when she met Besson when she was 12. Horror fans will know her from Switchblade Romance (High Tension in USA) but few will remember she was that oprea singing alien from The Fifth Element. But she has join a fast line of actors proving they have talent not just in front of the camera but also behind it.In 2011 her police drama Polisse was a Jury Prize winning film at Cannes before gaining 13 César Award nominations (French Oscars). Mon Roi itself saw Bercort Emmanuelle Bercot the festival’s Best Actress prize at last years Cannes Film Festival, an award jointly shared with Rooney Mara for Carol.

Mon Roi (My King) will get an limited UK release on 27th May.
