Whilst I was submerged in Underland , mayhem has been unleashed on earth as the human race faces it’s biggest battle since 1996. We’ve had 20 years to prepares but in the new Independence Day: Resurgence Extended UK Trailer as the aliens return to cause havoc!
Today 20th Century Fox UK give us the longest and best look at Rolland Emmerich‘s upcoming long awaited sequel.Shredding more light on the story, the characters and destruction that lies ahead of us next month. It’s a fun epic trailer that delivers new footage mixed in with footage we’ve already seen.However if your looking to keep the footage at a minimum, at wait to see the film I would watch this as it reveals a little too much.
Today was at a press day that included Alice Through The Looking Glass (hence Underland mention) which was a different type of mayhem (better than the first film but not perfect), but seeing this excites us immensely it’s pure escapism. Every so often we need to ‘destroy’ something and feel good after it even if the story isn’t great, this is destruction therapy at it’s very best.
We always knew they were coming back. After Independence Day redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter Independence Day: Resurgence delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.
Some are calling this a supercut,possibly. What this does do is suggest that former president Thomas J. Whitmore (Bill Pullman) might be the link the communication with our invaders. Whilst it doesn’t suggest if he’ll survive but first film’s mouthpiece Dr. Brakish Okun (Brent Spiner) is in this, if he survived there might just be hope for him. This film won’t be hiding any surprises, it’s just a reminder we need to give our brains much needed rest from those complex comic book films and enjoy the ride you deserve it!
Independence Day: Resurgence stars also Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward. The destruction begins in UK&Ireland on 23rd June.
