5 weeks and counting until the apocalypse arrives in UK cinemas with X-Men:Apocalypse. Are you prepared for the destruction? Getting ready for what lies ahead Fox have sent us  a batch of character posters which showcase the film’s main players The X-Men and Horsemen.

Compared to the recent stylish Four Horsemen posters, these new posters are back to the more traditional style though better than those embarrassing posters from First Class. In other X-Men tidbits there has been gossip that a certain franchise character will make an appearance….Wolverine. This has been talk for a while  but it now seems we maybe closer to confirming his inclusion in the film which he wasn’t part of the film. After recent reshoots it seems he was added however we don’t know  how big a role he’ll have yet.

As this current franchise is following the rise of the original X-Men we have crossed many landmark events in the X-Men history. One of those landmarks may possibly appear in X-Men Apocalypse is the romance of Jean Grey and Cyclops Scott Summers. Whilst this may not go into big details as the pair are teenagers we might witness that love blossom in it’s early days.

In X-Men:Apocalypse, since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men:Apocalypse will arrive on 18th May starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy.
