Next month those heroes in a halfshell will return to our cinemas for another ‘cowabunga’ adventure. In the new UK trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows those dudes will step of the shadow but trailer also teases they might step out of their shells too…
The one thing that seem to be missing from the 2014 reboot was fun element. Now in this second trailer for the sequel that fun might be about to come back as it seems to be oozing.
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to cinemas this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.
I’m not going to start defending this franchise nor the cinematic ‘crimes’ many believe Michael Bay has been accused of committing. The tone of this new trailer is playful making a strong case this might be a decent no brainer even if you had no interest. This promo also sets up the film’s main characters and villains including the iconic comic book characters Krang, Bebop, and Rocksteady. There is a mysterious ooze that turned the previous mentioned baddies into mutant human hybrids tesing that that purple ooze might reverse our heroes back into humans!
William Fichtner returns with Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher plus Johnny Knoxville our Turtles voices. Brian Tee is now Shredder with Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, Laura Linney as the average cop and Arrow’s Stephen Amell as the human vigilante Casey Jones joins the newcomers.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows is due for release in UK&Ireland 30th May.
