6 weeks and counting before the apocalypse arrives and Fox are making sure we know who will take our fate in the latest X-Men:Apocalypse promo. After yesterday’s short featurette today The four Horsemen cometh in new stylish posters, check them out…
When you look over the history of X-Men franchise in regards of the film’s promotion has been a mixed bag. Leaning more toward weak, cheap embarrassing for such a tentpole franchise you would expect something of higher quality. However things seem to be changing as the current prequel franchise film X-Men:Apocalypse things have been unusually strong.
In X-Men:Apocalypse, since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
Much of the film’s promotion hasn’t been centred on the X-Men or the film’s main villain Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) but his assembled mutant ‘followers’ Four Horsemen. Magneto (Michael Fassbender)“Rage. Pain. Vengeance.”, Storm (Alexandra Shipp)“Fury. Lost. Survivor.”, Angel (Ben Hardy)“Savage. Dark. Fallen.”, Psylocke (Olivia Munn) “Lethal. Fierce. Merciless.”. Each poster representing their personalities and character’s religious connections It’s ironic that the film is playing like The Rapture which many people of certain faiths who believe we’re living in those days just now. Could this film be the big swan song for many of those characters of X-Men universe we’ve followed since X-Men in 2000?
X-Men:Apocalypse will arrive on 19th May co-starring Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Josh Helman and Lana Condor.
