Warner Bros Confirm Ben Affleck To Direct Solo Batman Movie

Batman V Superman Dawn of justice

It’s been on the cards for a long time so it’s no surprise that today everything is now official, Ben Affleck is set to star and direct a solo Batman movie. The news was officially broken , announced in Las Vegas at ComicCon at Warner Bros panel  by their CEO Kevin Tsujihara

we’re excited to be working with Ben Affleck on a standalone Batman film” while touting DC’s upcoming slate.”

According to Collider whilst the above news was confirmed they didn’t however make it clear if Ben Affleck will be involved in the directing and scripting, despite the news sort of saying he would be. Affleck or Batflick has been working on a script for the film since last Summer with DC Comics Geoff Johns. Hopefully a official press release could answer those questions in what been at the ‘helm’ will actually mean. Affleck has already proven he is a solid director Gone Baby Gone and the brilliant Argo as proof of his talents behind the camera. He was also actually one of the best things in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice as the caped crusader, very convicing, grizzled more mature but still flamboyant. He is a fan of the dark knight has been since he was a boy so would be a good move for Warner Bros, Synder himself has indicated he in line for the role both sides of the camera.

As and when we can expect this movie? DC announced two more movies for DC Extended Universe. The dates of 5th October 2018 and 1st November 2019, the chances of this movie been one of them are strong. The reports are saying it will be with us in the next 5 years, if anything 2019 looks the logical choice. The other question that will be asked, is what and when will this film be about? Will it be pre Dawn Of Justice or will they go for just after the film liek what they did with the last Iron Man movie after the first Avengers.

It probably all be down to Affleck’s schedule. With his next directorial movie Live By Night will be in post production and the Justice League film will be in production too.
