The Legend Of Tarzan

Many have attempted to bring Tarzan back to the big screen and failed, this summer The Legend Of Tarzan will attempt to put things right. Today we have a new UK trailer which shows he Tarzan, meets Jane…

Like Ben-Hur Hollywood attempts to bring another slice of Golden Age Hollywood to the 21st Century and a generation who may not have heard of Tarzan. Compare the new version to Edgar Rice Burroughs iconic character version, he seems to be more aware of his surroundings and our little planet.

In The Legend Of Tarzan I’s been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Margot Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

The first trailer left many of the female populous weak at the knees at the sight of a shirtless Skarsgård.The new trailer is portraying the titular hero more as an superhero which will make this more an action adventure than just an adventure. We do get more of an look at the origins story which teases  us that the origins will also include John Clayton’s parents and their fate. The one thing that’s really frustrating is the over usage of CGI, however with the story that has many animals so this is the only way things can work. Just a shame in today’s technology things still look too computerised. In a positive note this trailer is more productive and with David Yates as director things are strong.

Co-Starring Samuel L. Jackson, John Hurt and Djimon Hounsou,The Legend Of Tarzan will be released in UK cinemas on 8th July 2016.
