Soda Pictures will be releasing Alice Winocour‘s Disorder this March in UK, ahead of it’s UK Premier at Next month at Glasgow Film Festival we get a look at it’s official trailer.
War on terror meets home invasion Disorder (formerly called Maryland), Matthias Schoenaerts and Diane Kruger star in a new twist on the after effects of war. Regularly we hear of nightmarish stories of soldiers returning from wartorn destinations they serve but rarely do we bother think about their metal well being. They suffer in silence and this dialogue free trailer is in a way reminiscent of that suffering that causes many of ex-soldiers do things that are out of character.
In Disorder following a tour of duty, Special Services soldier Vincent (Schoenaerts) takes a job in security for a wealthy Lebanese businessman and his family.
During a lavish party at the family’s luxurious ‘Maryland’ villa in the South of France, Vincent senses that something is amiss. When his employer is urgently called away on business Vincent is left to ensure the safety of his wife Jessie (Kruger) and their child. Suffering from post-traumatic stress, Vincent battles his own paranoia whilst clinging to the certainty that Jessie and her family are in real and immediate danger, unleashing a hell-bent determination to protect them at all costs.
The film has been picking up fairly positive reviews since it’s appearance at Cannes last summer and now it’s ready final verdict when joe public get a chance to see the film. The dialogue free video delivers a sense of atmosphere and broodiness to the film. But the big question is when will governments finally admit the men and women who come back to the frontline especially those with PTSD need help long after they return home.
Disorder will have it’s premiere in Glasgow at 21st February (22nd at Dublin Film Festival) before it’s release in UK cinemas 25th March.
