You can’t beat a true David Vs. Goliath story and new international trailer for Concussion, we get that story as Health over profit do battle. Whilst we love our sports sometimes the £££ and talent has more power than the actual well being of the asset, as an unknown doctor takes on one of America’s biggest companies, NFL.

Concussion is a dramatic thriller based on the incredible true David vs. Goliath story of Dr. Bennet Omalu, the brilliant forensic neuropathologist who made the first discovery of CTE, a sports-related brain trauma, in a pro player and fought for the truth to be known. Omalu’s emotional quest puts him at dangerous odds with one of the most powerful, beloved institutions in the world.

You don’t need anyone to tell you that every sport worldwide that has interaction with an opponent we’ve heard of horror stories of great sports men and women been paralysed of killed due to their proffession. When your dedicated to your craft you will do anything to get to the top and to stay there too. Many teams, individuals are starting to accept change however though I’m not a fan of NFL, from whatI’m reading it looks like they are still in denial. The American release is only weeks away, so it will be interesting to see their reaction to the film.

For those not aware, we get a glimpse of unravelling of David Morse character, playing a once Pittsburgh Steelers player Mike Webster (1970s-1990). He suffered much trauma during during his playing career and is believed it’s much of his story the film is based around. The film does show much reflection, compelling viewing and highlights awareness of health a sometimes taboo thing in sports.Oscar nod for Will Smith? Possibly.

Concussion is not out until 12th February 2016 co-starring Alec Baldwin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Albert Brooks, Luke Wilson, Paul Reiser, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
