Noragami Episode 1

Noragami Season 1 [rating=3]

Quick Synopsis:
Minor god Yato is down on his luck. He has no money, no worshippers, and no shrine to call home. But just when things are starting to seem hopeless, a bus accident forces him to cross paths with Hiyori Iki; a sweet and perky high school girl.
After the accident, Hiyori’s soul has a bad habit of slipping out of her body, and after enlisting Yato’s help to get her back to normal, she begins to fall into the world of spirits and gods. But Hiyori’s not the only one who’s keeping tabs on Yato. A god from Yato’s past is back, and he’s not interested in a friendly reunion.

In a nutshell:
It’s an interesting anime, the plot is good enough to keep us interested and the characters keep us a little on our toes about thei intentions and what their motivations actually are. The fighting is interesting and entertaining. This is definitely an anime to watch if you are up for a bit of comedy too. It’s light and not really dark.

Now for the awarding of the stars!

Animation was so – so; simple style for color and definition. Simple but effective.
I’d give this a half star at the most; it wasn’t anything spectacular but it suits the anime.

Plot is good. There is a lot to keep us interested and entertained, thrown in with a good sense of humor. I was always interested in seeing the next episode.
As such I’m going to give the plot a full star.

Characters were interesting, some of the same old character types, leading arrogant male, who comes into contact with a girl who changes his life and an enemy from the past. It’s a classic set of characters brought to life with the twists and turns of the plot.
A star in it’s entirety.

Fighting is another full star. It isn’t all over the place, we can always see the action going on. The use of weaponry is good, and it’s interesting to see how the weaponry develops throughout the show.

Extras I’ll give a half star.
I’ve seen better extras but then again I’ve seen worse; not to mention any names but if you’ve read any of my other reviews.. then you’ll know who I’m talking about!

All in all 3 out of 5 stars
Noragami is available in Standard and Bluray editions.
