Its hard to believe its nearly 16 months since Bong Joon-ho‘s Snowpiercer made it’s UK premiere at Edinburgh Film Festival but no general release yet. His next project OKJA is making big waves and more likely to arrive before ‘Piercer seems to have announced new cast.
After last week’s announcement of Tilda Swinton joining the cast today The Wrap are saying Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano and Bill Nighy are joing the South Korean’s creature feature. The negotiations are at different stages for each actor but it’s expected OKJA the monster fest will be like his last film multilingual. Very little is known on the film’s characters and who will play who, with only a ‘leading’ Korean actress will lead the film.
Could this actress be Ko Ah-sung? She starred in the director’ cult 2006 monster flick The Host but could the film’s other stars be Song Kang-ho or Doona Bae also be in line for the role? The latter who has made a name for herself with The Wachowski’s who is one of Korea’s biggest female imports be the lead? Whatever the choice at least one of those actress will appear in OKJA.
Production for the film is set to start early 2016, so news of the cast will follow suit.
