When there’s no more in hollywood heaven the dead will shuffle amongst cineplexs and 2016 Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will do so. In the first UK Teaser trailer Politeness does kill… zombies Jane Austen style!
When we’ve virtually covered nearly every angle on zombie genre the inevitible was going to happen that the classic literature would be next target for mash up. Pride And Prejudice And Zombies still remebers it’s a period drama and the Bennett sister know how to kick some zombie ass!
This is a fresh twist on Jane Austen’s widely celebrated novel. A mysterious plague has fallen upon 19th century England, the land is overrun with the undead and feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is a master of martial arts and weaponry. Casting aside personal and social prejudices, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy must unite on the blood-soaked battlefield to rid the country of the zombie menace and discover their true love for one another.
Don’t expect The Walking Dead, World War Z or even zombieland as it’s roots are still firmly in Austen territory but with a big slice of absurd gusto. Like Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter this comes from the pages of Seth Grahame-Smith who released of series classicial literature mash up novels. These ladies are high soceity and have lethal movies not just on the ballroom floor but martial arts?!! It may have the original dynamic and director Burr Steers has stated this is not a parody and starts as he states as your lurred into a false belief then second have you may just into laughter. Whatever you believe in, it’s a brainless popcorn fun.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will shuffle like Michael Jackson’s thriller into UK cinemas from 12th February 2016 starring Lilly James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcoate, Douglas Booth, Suki Waterhouse, Matt Smith, Lena Heady and Charles Dance.
