In New JOY Trailer Jennifer Lawrence Exchanges The Bow For The Gun

In a few weeks Jennifer Lawrence will lay down her Bow for a gun in the name of a miracle, a miracle mop and In Joy UK Trailer she may deliver her most dramatic performance to date. In her third collaboration with David O.Russell and co-star Bradley Cooper suggesting Oscar nomination is a cert but could this year deliver?

Joy is the wild story of a family across four generations centered on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces. Like David O. Russell’s previous films, Joy defies genre to tell a story of family, loyalty, and love.

If you where doubting that Lawrence could only lead a film franchise such as The Hunger Games, this new film is certainly doing it’s best to her talents expand beyond Katniss Everdean. The tone of this film feels more at home with Silver Linings Playbook then again floats into American Hustle territory too. This looks fantastic character driven film but will it have more substance than previous films? It’s more seriousness in tone than over the top screwball. Lawrence is a woman who takes no crap but equally vulnerable.

Starring , Robert De Niro,  Édgar Ramírez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd, and Virginia Madsen, JOY is in UK cinemas 1st January 2016.
