Gorgeous New Images For Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s The Revenant

After his success at The Oscars, Alejandro G. Iñárritu‘s The Revenant is building up to be one of the anticipated films to look forward too in 2016. The upcoming adventure will to take us on a ride into the Brave New World showcasing the strength of human spirit and in the latest images highlight the harsh realities our heroes face.

The Revenant is inspired by true events, an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.

Despite the talk of over budgeting, squabbles and tension throughout the making of the film, we have a beautifully harsh looking film all thanks to cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki. The Oscar winning Cinematographer certainly looks like he’s onto another winner opting for natural light of brutal surroundings delivering a sense of realism. This is a time before the lightbulb, battery or even Kerosene lamps where created, even DiCaprio a well known Vegetarian also lived as a character which saw him eat raw Bison liver!

The Revenant arrives in UK&Ireland on 16th January 2016 co-starring Will Poulter, Grace Dove Syme,Lukas Haas, Domhnall Gleeson.
