The new full trailer for Young Adult sequel has arrived online revealing a little more of the story and a city in the desert!
In Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers have escaped The Maze but what they thought was for the good, it seems it may just be the start. As our heroes attempt to find out about who this mysterios WCKD are Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all.
The Maze Runner was an unexpected when it was out in 2014, taking many people and critics by surprise that good it actually beat the ‘expected’ YA film Divergent at the Box. As expectations where low for the first film, there is now a higher expectancy for the sequel and on evidence of this trailer may just deliver. Like Queen of The YA films The Hunger Games, The Scorch Trials new trailer reveals more of the world, Dystopian, Post Apocalyptic. The new challenges our heroes face may not be in the Maze but what lies ahead is just as dangerous as The Glade. The climate, WCKD soliders and a disease that seems to turn it’s victims into zombie like monsters. This gives me the impression of Resident Evil, but throw in Aiden Gillan whose great as the villain and the success of the first film things might be just be fine.
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials arriving in UK cinemas from 10th September (USA 18th September). The film co-stars all reprising their roles. They are joined by newcomers Giancarlo Esposito, Barry Pepper, Lili Taylor.
