Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s The Revenant First Trailer Arrives!

REVENANT-Leonardo-DiCaprio

I ain’t afraid to die anymore, I’ve Done it alreadyAlejandro G. Iñárritu‘s The Revenant sees Leonardo DiCaprio fights for Survival in first UK Trailer. After the success of Birdman at the Oscars could we see him repeat the success with his 19th Century survival adventure?

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hugh Glass, a man betrayed and left for dead in uncharted territory; a man with an unbreakable spirit who survived the unimaginable. A film that maybe based in uncharted lands but might see the filmmaker sail into well known charted lands of Award winning glory.

The Revenant is inspired by true events, an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.

If anything DiCaprio will be one of the early front runners for his lead role and once again Iñárritu’s regular cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki may just join him. His visionary style looks astonishing capturing the rawness thanks also largely to them relying on purely on natural light of Canadian wilderness. You really do get a feel that the time film is set was a sensitive, terrifying place to be but also and amazing time as much of the world we see today wasn’t discovered.

Starring also Will Poulter, Lukas Haas, Domhnall Gleeson, The Revenant will arrive in UK cinemas January 15 2016.
