30 years after the Griswolds went on their vacation it’s time to return to Walley World but step back Chevy Chase it’s your boy Rusty time, watch Vacation Red Band Trailer!
Clark (Chevy Chase)and Ellen Griswold (Beverly D’Angelo)might still be there but it’s time for their grown up boy to start his own legacy into holiday chaos going back to his own holiday routes.
The next generation of Griswolds is at it again. Vacation, starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate, takes the family on the road for another ill-fated adventure. The film marks Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley’s directorial debut.
Following in his father’s footsteps and hoping for some much-needed family bonding, a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Helms) surprises his wife, Debbie (Applegate), and their two sons with a cross-country trip back to America’s “favorite family fun park,” Walley World.
I will follow the message many of my fellow film writers in saying this trailer is playing the Meta joke and of course those bodily functions that bring a cheeky smile to anyone’s face. The emphasis is on the comedy that made the franchise so popular the gross out ridiculous fun without wandering into all out vulgarity. What I do like is the balance just seems to be right with a cheeky insight at our general consensus on reboots, sequels.
Vacation co-stars Leslie Mann as Rusty’s sister Audrey with Chris Hemsworth as her husband, and Kaitlin Olsen. The film arrives in UK on 21st August
