Melissa McCarthy Meets Her Doppelganger In New SPY Clip

There was a time Melissa McCarthy was the hottest property in comedic movies but after a few howlers her reputation dwindled things maybe about to change with SPY.In a new clip entitled ‘Clown‘ for her Summer comedy McCarthy’s character Susan Cooper meets her Doppelganger…

Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency’s most dangerous missions. But when her partner (Jude Law) falls off the grid and another top agent (Jason Statham) is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.

The new clip we see Susan (McCarthy) having a social one to one with Rayna Boyanov (Rose Byrne) the arms dealer the CIA could be looking for in connection of weapons sale. Just  when Susan is about to put her foot in it she is fast on her  feet to get her on the right track. The clip reminds us of the times McCarthy and Byrne fired quips  at each other in Bridesmaids, in a way Boyanov is a little like Helen (Bridesmaids).

We can’t deny McCarthy is one of the funniest ladies in film whose just going through a blimp as all good actors go through and when SPY made it’s world premiere at SXSW Festival it left with some truly great reviews. With a stuffed Summer Blockbuster season chapping on the door , Paul Feig‘s espionage comedy may just surprise a few at the box office.

SPY will be released in UK,Irish and USA  cinemas on 5th June. also staring  Jude Law, Jason Statham,Alison Janney, Bobby Cannavale, Miranda Hart, Peter Serafinowicz and Morena Baccarin.
