Inherent Vice hit UK cinemas last Friday and has been met, for the most part, with audience and critical acclaim. To celebrate the release, Warner Bros. Pictures have sent us an interview with the cast.
The only film adaptation of a Thomas Pynchon novel, Inherent Vice tells the story of drug-fuelled private detective, Doc Sportello. Doc’s ex-girlfriend has disappeared, and he must, in his own unique style, find out what’s happened.
Inherent Vice is the seventh film from acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson, and has stars a whole host of famous faces, including Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, Katherine Waterston, Jena Malone, Benicio Del Toro, Joanna Newsom, and Martin Short. The video sees some of the cast being interviewed about working with Anderson, and what it’s like to work with Phoenix when he’s so completely ‘in the moment’.
Reviewers from both of our sites enjoyed the film, with Chris Bank’s four star review for The People’s Movies here, and Ian Schultz’s four and a half star review for Cinehouse here.
