What will Whiplash do to you?

Whiplash-Teller-Simmons

Whiplash, the intense story of a promising young drummer who is mentored by a terrifying tutor, has been wowing audiences and critics alike. The film has been nominated for 5 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor for J.K. SimmonsSimmons is surely the favourite going in to the Oscars after he picked up the the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor earlier last week.

With a tagline like “Suffering is the soul of greatness“, audiences know the young drummer is not in for an easy time. Little do they know, that neither are they! Whiplash is a truly exhilarating watch, with little time to breathe or catch your breath. Have you ever wondered what sort of effect watching such an intense and thrilling film has on your body? Sony have sent us a nifty infographic that shows how watching such a film measures against other high-intensity activities.

Fascinating stuff! So don’t feel too bad if you’re New Year’s resolution to do more exercise isn’t going so well, watching this film could have the same effect.
