Doctor Dolittle liked to talk to the animals, Ryan Reynolds hears the animals too but he’s no Dr Dolittle he listens to them to kill, watch the UK trailer for The Voices.

Arrow Films have shipped us over this brilliant little  dark slice of  comedy thriller that shows that in our deranged world of psychotic serial killers even they have diversity…meow.

The Voices we meet Jerry (Reynolds)a factory worker singleton who just wants to please all his co-workers especially the female ones Fiona (Gemma Arterton) and Lisa (Anna Kendrick). The girls work in accounts and when events take a murderous twist thanks to his cat Mr Whiskers, Dog Bosco  who told him to kill, leading Jerry of the path of salvation he truly desires.

This looks a right good twisted demented film that reminds me a little of Elijah Wood in Maniac, maybe not as gruesome but just as dark and twisted. You do get a shred of sympathy for Jerry in  the way of one of  Arrow Films video releases Christmas Evil and having the animals (voiced by Reynolds) telling him what to do makes this an intriguing film

The Voices is directed by Persepolis director Marjane Satrapi and also stars Jacki Weaver, with the film arriving in UK cinema  on 20th March.

Jerry (Ryan Reynolds) is an affable singleton who works on the factory floor at a bathtub factory, ever eager to get along with his co-workers, especially Fiona (Gemma Arterton) and Lisa (Anna Kendrick) from accounts. After work Jerry goes home to his pet cat, Mr. Whiskers, and loyal dog Bosco, where the three of them hang out, watch TV and discuss the day’s events. When one night he accidentally kills Fiona, Jerry hastily covers his tracks, under the strict advice of the subversive Mr. Whiskers. But Jerry is already beyond the reach of his well-meaning psychiatrist Dr. Warren (Jacki Weaver) and things are also looking bad for Lisa, who has taken a shine to Jerry. Despite Bosco trying to keep Jerry on the straight and narrow, Mr. Whiskers seems to be the loudest voice in Jerry’s head and soon events have spiraled and salvation is all Jerry can hope for.
