Paul Feig and Melissa McCarthy have already worked together on Bridesmaids, and The Heat, and today brings the trailer for their next collaboration, Spy. Of course, this follows the big, but unsurprising, news this week that McCarthy is in early talks to star in Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters reboot. Having already achieved huge successes together, this seems like a no-brainer, but apparently everything is hanging on McCarthy’s busy schedule. Until then however, we have Spy.
The film follows unassuming CIA analyst Susan (McCarthy), as she volunteers to go deep undercover in order to prevent a deadly disaster at the hands of an arms dealer.
The trailer seems to combine Feig’s wit (he is also on writing duties) with McCarthy’s physical humour, something that has undoubtedly worked for them in the past. We also see espionage expert Jason Statham criticise Susan, as she tries to be the super slick spy she has always aspired to be.
We have a red band and green band trailer below for you to watch. The red band trailer is not safe for work, or for watching in front of your Granny, but the green trailer has the same footage, just with the swearing and violence cut out.

Spy also stars Jude Law, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Allison Janney, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and bizarrely, Miranda Hart. The film will be hitting cinemas on 22nd May.
