There are only a couple of weeks left to wait for Birdman, one of the most anticipated films of the year, and to make that wait fly by Fox Searchlight UK have released a new clip from the film.
Birdman tells the darkly comic tale of a washed-up actor who used to play an iconic superhero, and is now trying to stage a comeback by mounting a Broadway play. As shown in the below clip – which sees the birdman himself, Michael Keaton fighting with his daughter played by Emma Stone – the film appears to be shot in one long take.
After receiving seven Golden Globes nominations, including Best Picture and Michael Keaton for Best Actor, the film, directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Babel, Biutiful) has been hotly tipped as a favourite come Academy Awards time. You can decide for yourself how it stacks up against the competition, when the film is released in UK cinemas on 1st January.
Birdman also stars Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, and Naomi Watts, and you can view the fantastic trailer below.
