First trailer for Shakespeare comedy Bill has arrived

billThe cast of BBC’s Horrible Histories and Sky One’s Yonderland unite to tell the story of William Shakespeare in a way like never before.

Set during ‘the lost years’, Bill sees young Shakespeare leave his home in Stratford, to follow his dream as a playwright in London. He soon becomes involved in a plot to including a murderous king, suspicious spies, and a plan to blow up Queen Elizabeth.

The main cast of six will combine to play over 40 different roles in the film, reflecting the Monty Python ways of old.

From the trailer, the film looks like an awful lot of fun, seeing Shakespeare try out everything from contemporary dance to lute playing. We also see Helen McCroy as Queen Elizabeth, with IMDB reporting that her husband, Damien Lewis will also feature in the film.

The film stars Matthew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond and is released in UK cinemas on 27th March 2015.
