Let’s be honest at times we have remakes of films coming out endlessly, but Joe Wright‘s Pan is an ‘revisionist’ take on the classic Peter Pan origins story and we love it when filmmakers try to be different.
Pan is an new take on JM Barrie’s classic children’s fantasy adventure which sees Hugh Jackman exchange his adamtanium claws for a set of unrecognizable set of whiskers, now thats worth a look at this first look at the UK trailer!
First timer Levi Miller plays the legendary Peter (Pan) in a story set in World War 2 era when he’s kidnapped by a band of pirates who ship him off to Neverland where he encounters the formidable Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) and discover what lies in his destiny.
Every Summer the blockbuster season is always full of comic book films so it’s refreshing to see a film like Pan that’s based on a classic adventure, the film looks to be in the right hands in regards of period drama. It’s visually vigorous and Pan maybe the closest Hollywood will get to a traditional Pantomine-esque type film, Hugh Jackman certainly looks to be having fun especially, Oh Yes He is!
Pan has a July 2015 UK release date and don’t be surprise if this one catches some of those blockbusters off guard! The film also co-stars Amanda Seyfried, Garrett Hedlund and Rooney Mara.Powered by Sidelines
