Groovy! It’s been rumours for a long time but it seems it’s official Ash is set to return as the Evil Dead to get it’s on TV Show! Since the summer Sam Raimi along with his brother Ivan talked about a possibly creating a small screen version since comic con now it’s becoming reality.

Not alot of details have been released but what we know according to Collider American Cable channel Starz who haved ordered an 10 show series. The series will be called Ash Vs. Evil Dead with each episode lasting 30 minutes with Bruce Campbell returning to play Ash once again. The series will pick up 30 years after the last film where Ash “the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity, and the terrors of the Evil Dead.” forced out of retirement when a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind.

Sam Raimi will be onboard to write the script as well as direct the pilot episode with Ivan Raimi co directing with Chuck veteran Tom Spezialy onboard along side Evil Dead producer Tom Tapret. Essentially this was also the team who helped with Fede Alvarez’s 2013 remake, with Raimi taking charge will help to set the tone for the whole series which we know will be wickedly gory highly fun to watch, here’s what Raimi had to say…

“Evil Dead has always been a blast. Bruce, Rob, and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash’s lame, but heroic saga. With his chainsaw arm and his ‘boomstick,’ Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there’s a truckload of it.”

After a lot of talk of about Evil Dead 4 / Armies of Darkness 2, with the advancement of television it seems a more logical choice to head to the small screen rater than the big screen. After his involvement in Spartacus, Ash Vs.Evil dead will be in good hands with Starz but most of all we’re keen to see Sam Raimi‘s transition into television after years of big screen features.

What do you think? Groovy to see Ash returning even if it’s the small screen? share your reviews below…
