Bayonetta: Bloody Fate [rating=4]

Bayonetta: Bloody Fate based on the smash hit video game, all the action and sexiness of Bayonetta comes to you for the first time in anime form by Studio Gonzo (Origin: Spirits Of The Past, Linkin Park’s “Breaking The Habit” music video, Afro Samurai: Resurrection.) Angels and Demons are no match this gun wielding vixen.

Bayonetta: Bloody Fate follows the story of the witch Bayonetta, as she defeats the blood-thirsty Angels and tries to remember her past from before the time she awoke, 20 years ago. Alongside her is a mysterious little girl who keeps calling her “Mommy”, a journalist that holds a personal grudge against Bayonetta and an unknown white-haired woman who seems to know more than she is willing to reveal about Bayonetta’s time before her sleep.

The movie lived up to the game, Bayonetta is a vixen not to be messed with, killing Angels for kicks. The plot line is full of twists and turns it can be easy to lose track in it all.
The ending wasn’t satisfactory, in my own opinion it could have had more of an insight as to what was going to happen after the battling was done.

The fight scenes were brilliant, Bayonetta blasting, slicing and sawing through anything and everything that stood in her way, surprising us with demonic weapons and even raising some creatures herself even as she moves like an Olympic gymnast.

If you are a fan of the game or not, you will definitely be a fan of the movie.
The disk has the movie trailer, director commentary, and full storyboards.
The movie can be watched in Japanese language with English subtitles, or English audio where we see the return of Hellena Taylor who voiced Bayonetta in the game.

I would give this 4 stars overall. Animation was good, fighting was brilliant, plot could have done with a little work and the ending could be done better.

The Bayonetta: Bloody Fate movie comes out on Monday 24th November.
Be ready to buy the game if you haven’t already, because the movie will beckon you to the game, to play as Bayonetta to shoot your way through Angels upon Angels.
