The Brilliant Indie Revenge Thriller Blue Ruin Gets UK Trailer

Blue-Ruin-Macon-Blair

When Blue Ruin arrived at Glasgow Film Festival last week it was a film that arrived with a big reputation and we can tell it’s worth every pludit, enjoy the film’s brilliant UK Trailer.

Blue Ruin is a brilliant old fashioned revenge style thriller, shades of Blood Simple starring Macon Blair as Dwight a young man living life in the back of his car, disconnected from life. Dwight is hiding from something but what? When a police Officer finds him we learn that he must head back to his childhood home town to confront his past and the man who killed his parents is released from prison. The police think the matter will shock him, it does the opposite and heads home to seek vengeance.

This is no hipster bandwagon jumping thriller, it’s very grounded but also very haunting evocative solid piece of work that everyone involved should be proud off and not be scared to showcase to a mainstream audience. The tone reminds of the 1970’s films and I recommend you go into the film knowing very little about the film apart from it was our favourite film at this year’s Glasgow Film Festival and might just surprise you too!

Blue Ruin will be arriving in UK on 2nd May, thanks to Picturehouse stay tuned for our review sometime next month. The film also stars Devin Ratray, Amy Hargreaves, Kevin Kolack,Eve Plumb, and David W. Thompson
