Not long until the wolf is unleashed on UK cinephiles when Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf In Wall Street comes to the UK in January. Tonight we have behind the scenes look at the film in the shape of two featurettes, one looking at the story the other at the film’s production along with the casts thoughts on working with a true master of cinema Scorsese.
The Wolf of Wall Street chronicles the memoirs of Jordan Belfort , a successful stockbroker of the 1990s who was living the ‘American Dream’ but the dream turned to greed living a debauched life of excessive money, drugs went to his head. A life that would see Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) defraud millions which saw him serve 22 months behind bars.
The film was released on Christmas Day Stateside to fantastic reviews living up to it’s reputation as one of the most anticipated upcoming films but its had its fair share of detractors too. From the promotion it’s easy to say The Wolf Of Wall Street is not a Christmas movie and with the birth Jesus been one of Stateside’s biggest day’s of the year for films sex, drugs and flying midgets maybe the last thing you want to see. Is it another case of over promotion rocketing the expectation levels? In the UK promotion side it seems to be less as we received very little for it, but when you have the maestro Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio in the same sentence it gets us excited, what about you?
Will this be the duo’s best film together we’ll find out when The Wolf Of Wall Street arrives in UK on 17th January 2014. The film co-stars Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Jon Benrthal, Margot Robbie, Cristin Milioti Jean Dujardin, Jon Favreau, Rob Reiner, Spike Jonze, Jake Hoffman, Shea Whigham and Joanna Lumley.
