A Ratty First Look At TV Trailer For Guillermo Del Toro’s The Strain

After slobber knocker of giant robots saving our behinds from giant monsters of Pacific Rim it’s back to what Del Toro made his name with Horror TV Series. Based on The Chuck Hogan Vampire trilogy of books The Strain was recently premiered on U.S TV during the mid season finale of The Walking Dead Season 4 (on FoxUK this Friday 10pm).

Shot in the found footage style the new teaser lasts about 32 seconds we don’t get really any proper footage with those big scary rodents through corridors and drains making some you churn in fear. You maybe wondering what heck is going on? The teaser is deliberately designed to make us talk about The Strain and what you think the series is about so it’s o surprise this trailer executive producer Carlton Cuse who brought us Lost hence the WTF moment.

The Strain finds a group of New Yorkers grouping together to survive a vampiric virus , searching to find a cure with the help from Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll). The pilot episode aired on the  American FX channel (Fox in UK) receiving very positive feedback now a 13 episode season has been agreed currently filming in Toronto, no word on a UK release date yet.

Kevin Durand, Mia Maestro, Sean Astin, Robert Maillet, David Bradley plus John Hurt (one episode before David Bradley takes over) will all star in the series with Del Toro and Hogan onboard as executive producers.
