Crime Has a new enemy Americans it’s called Robocop! Comply or die and enjoy the new UK trailer for José Padilha’s Robocop, Thank you for your cooperation.
Why is America sooooo Robophobic? That is what Samuel ‘MoFo’ Jackson character asks his TV audience, show some brutal attacks by robots to anyone you’ll be sure they wont like what they see, but this is no ordinary robot this is Robocop! The future justice of a proto-fascist America. The question is will Jose Padilha’s 2014 version pay homage to Paul Verhoeven’s satirical 1987 version? The trailer certainly shows plenty of new footage that digs a little deeper into the military/political reasons for putting a man inside a robot. What fans of the original may like is the bit at the end which sees our hero Alex Murphy(Joel Kinnaman) in the original silver metallic suit.
Like any film with a cult following you’ll always be treading on eggshells not to offend anyone, any anti-remake cinephiles who didnt want to see this one be remade may just secretly enjoy what their seeing so far!
Robocop will be released in UK on 7th February 2014, 5 days before USA see on 12th February, the 2014 version also stars Michael Keaton, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish and Gary Oldman.
