Mob-City

Frank Darabont  is the director who brought The Walking Dead to our small screens despite the success worldwide he left after series one however didn’t drift into the wilderness, he went onto create Mob City and we have the first trailer!

Based on John Bunton’s acclaimed novel L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City, Mob City is a Los Angeles based 1940’s cop drama. A drama based on a city caught in a power struggle between the police, the corrupt police and gangster Mickey Cohen. A task Force is set up to sort out the organised crime sweeping the city, a force headed by Det. Hal Morrison (Jeffrey DeMunn) with  ex-marine Det. Joe Teague (Jon Bernthal) leading the front

The story may sound very familiar to a certain disappointing Gangster Squad  however when you have the director of Shawshank Redemption behind the lens you know something truly special has been made and Mob City does look special. You could say Mob City might just be what Gangster Squad should have been like, violent, dark, gritty and characters whose story is better developed.

If you ever wondered what happened to those characters who got killed in The Walking Dead (Bernthal, De Munn) you’ll find them here in Mob City next a familiar face of Simon Pegg too! No word on a UK television date just yet probably 2014 as the American date is December.
