With this years yearly Halloween haunt for Paranormal Activity 5 cancelled until early 2014, it maybe frustrating for fans of the low budget franchise however it looks like 2014 there will be 2 Paranormal Activity films!
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones and then Paranormal Activity 5 are both due out next year with the first one (The Marked ones) due out early January, a spin off film playing on the Catholic Church investigation into whats happened. The film will be mostly a Latino cast with Christopher Landon (his directorial debut) and will square off against Zach Gilford‘s Devil’s Due which is out roughly the same time.
At the moment for Paranormal Activity 5 Jason Blum and Oren Peli will be on producing duties once again, as for who will be directing or even what the film’ plot will be we don’t know at this stage.
Is this a sign that Paramount’s bubble has bust on the faith of the project? Have they sussed Paranormal Activity 4 will an absolute dud a disappointing return after the success of movie 3? Whatever it is the budget and production of Paranormal Activity franchise is so small they just hope the cash cow has enough to graze on for the company to get maximum return? There’s even a rumour that Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is actually movie 5 ( The Wrap) ,the imdb page actually states both films for same release date? For now we’ll treat them as 2 different films until the official word is out.
Paranormal Activity: Marked Ones is set for a January 2014 release date with Paranormal Activity 5 if seperate film will likely have it’s traditional October release date in 2014.
