He could be Gatsby re-incarnated old sport as Leonardo DiCaprio loves to party hard, do hard drugs, have fun with pretty girls! Enjoy the first UK trailer for Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf Of Wall Street.
Based on the memoirs of Jordan Belfort, The Wolf Of Wall Street is set the 1990’s DiCaprio plays a New York Stockbroker who loves to splash the cash, on cars, booze, women spending it that fast like it’s burning a hole in his pocket. The thing is that money he’s burning wasn’t earned legally so before he’s knows it the Feds are on his trail and his partying like it’s 1999 looks like he’ll head to prison.
After years earning his stars and stripes in acting DiCaprio is certainly starting to reap the rewards and he’s looks like he’s had a ball playing this role. Whilst previous Wall Street based films concentrated on the dirty antics as well as consequences of the actions, The Wolf Of Wall Street is on the lifestyle on those who play dirty. Matthew McConaughey also looks like he’ll provide some more scene stealing moments and it’ also nice to see maturing in a positive direction too. It’s also refreshing to see Martin Scorsese to direct something a little off-kilter probably the underrated After Hours was his last attempt. Don’t get me wrong we’re fans of the auteur’s work his previous work has always been highly entertaining, The Wolf Of Wall Street looks like he’s taken the best elements from his back catalogue and gave it a health dose of comedy.
Our anticipation levels for this film have risen drastically, we can’t wait for this one, what about you?!
The Wolf Of Wall Street unfortunately is not out until 17th January 2014 in UK&Ireland but if your Stateside the wait is shorter 15th November. The film stars Kyle Chandler, Jon Benrthal, Margot Robbie, Cristin Milioti Jean Dujardin, Jon Favreau, Rob Reiner, Spike Jonze, Jake Hoffman, Shea Whigham and Joanna Lumley.
