Sparta is calling you cinephiles! The King is dead, Sparta’s finest warriors head to the sea, your rallying call has arrived online watch the first UK trailer for 300: Rise Of An Empire.

300:Rise Of An Empire picks up right after the event of the first film with Xerxes the Persian God Like king (Rodrigo Santoro) continues his surge into capturing Greece and takes his fight to the Seas. He leaves his assault in the capable hands of his all conquering female Naval commander Artemesia (Eva Green).Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) is the Greek’s lifeline and leader of the seas who’ll  attempt to unite his nation and prevent the aggressive Persian gaining a new country under their ever increasing Empire.

Despite the fact 300: Rise Of An Empire wont be on our cinema screens until March 2014 Warner Bros have unexpectedly decided we where deserving of this trailer just like how Zack Snyder‘s 2006 $500million box office hit. Mr Snyder is still onboard however  as you’ll know tomorrow he has the small matter of the arrival of Krypton’s son in our cinemas so now he’s picked up his Hollywood sword (pencil) as well as producing this follow up. Noam Murro has picked up the reigns and this trailer sets up the tone, expectancy of the film which seem visually and action wise to have kept the momentum flowing . The well oiled torso’s are all still their making men f the world jealous of envy and your aunty matilda weak at the knees at the sight of sixpack (even if their CGI ones!). The film has a a nostalgic feel to it and if  your like me enjoyed the brainless popcorn munching testosterone filled fun, 300: Rise Of An Empire should do the trick once again.

David Wenham ,Lena Headey, Jack OConnell all co-star in 300:Rise Of An Empire with the film set for 8th March 2014 USA release but expect the UK one to be the same.

Synopsis

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.  300: Rise of an Empire pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemesia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Warner Bros have also sent us this new one sheet poster which show the seas are blood soaked.
