sully-monstersuniversitThey maybe the jack Lemon, Walter Matthau of the animation world but in Pixar’s Monsters University Mike Wazowski and James P. ‘Sulley’ Sullivan there far from the friends we know and love , behold the first UK Trailer for Monsters University .

After the recent 3D release of Monsters Inc to remind us why the original film is much loved by fans and critics this Summer Pixar will transport us back to school, back to when Mike and Sulley enrolled in MU Monsters University. As they say opposites attract and they do here in Monster Inc. prequel as both did not like each other however the purpose of the film is to see how the become those great buddies, so we have a buddy flick animated stylee.

The new trailer serves up what you expect from a Pixar animation which is great news after the past few films, reminding us why we love their animation. A preview featurette was released over the weekend (see below) revealing a little bits of the plot, some of the characters but watch the trailer first, why? The trailer provides the laughs and when every subculture you expect to see at University, an American one at least (Cheerleaders, Jocks, sorority girls, protesters) are all here, outlandish and what you expect from Monsters Inc. We also get a first look at Dean Hardscrabble a dragon like monster which has a new voice, not Julia Sweeney now Helen Mirren minus the pink hair from last night’s Bafta’s  she look like she’ll continue her recent trend of playing imposing characters.

Direceted by Dan Scanlon, Monsters University will be released in UK&Ireland 12th July and stars the voice talents of Billy Crystal, John Goodman,Steve Buscemi,  Alfred Molina, Charlie Day, Joel Murray, Dave Foley, Sean Hayes, Julia Sweeney, Peter Sohn

Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer.  The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right.
